Participant guide

How the Sleep Sound Study works

A short baseline period, ten consistent study nights, and simple daily feedback.

Before Nov. 1

Baseline period

Complete at least five normal sleep nights. Do not use the study audio. Continue your ordinary routine.

Starting Nov. 1

10 study nights

Play the official study audio through YouTube each night. Aim for six or more hours when your normal sleep schedule allows.

After night 10

Final survey

Complete the final feedback survey so your baseline and study experience can be compared.

Keep your medical care unchanged. Do not start, stop, or change medications, CPAP use, supplements, or other treatment for this project.

What you will need

A way to play YouTube

Phone, tablet, computer, TV, or another device that can reliably play the official study video.

Comfortable listening setup

Headphones or a sleep headband can provide the clearest binaural effect, but comfort comes first. Speakers are also acceptable.

A few minutes each morning

Use the Nightly Sleep Log to record your sleep and optional tracker data.
