My Sleep Study Journey

A chronological record of my own sleep observations as I test routines and review Oura measurements over time.

Important: These reports describe one person's experience. They are not clinical research and cannot establish that a sleep mask, audio, or any other factor caused a change. Sleep varies naturally from night to night, and many uncontrolled factors can affect the results.

Report #1 — Sleep Mask + Deep Sleep Audio

October 4–5, 2026

Two nights, two very different Oura readings

The first comparison looks at a baseline night with no sleep mask or music and the following night using a sleep mask with deep-sleep ambient audio through headphones. Several measurements improved substantially on the second night, but a two-night, one-person comparison cannot tell us what caused those changes.
